blur6ex i- simple weblog
blur6ex is a simple weblog and content system built with PHP. It offers basic features found in more established systems and is extensible enough for any number of new features to be added. Ideal, at the moment, for those who don't want overkill in their setup.

By all accounts blur6ex is fairly simple. All of the code is in PHP and you could probably make it do anything you wanted by editing no more than 3 files. As the march to the 1.0 release continues, documentation is added and updated. If you don't want to mess with the core code, it's easy to create pluggable shards to add sidebar menus or other new features. A SVN repository is provided for read-only access (for now) to the latest code.

blur6ex grafts control the layout of your site. Each graft consists of a PHP file(s) and CSS file. For those fluent in CSS, the sky's the limit. For the rest of us, a few base grafts exist that you can use directly or modify to suit your tastes, most ported over from Wordpress or Movable Type. Your blog can look like your friends', or you can create your own, completely original look.

From the beginning one of the main focuses of the project was speed. The project grew out of curiosity, but also as a solution to what was seen as uber featureful and configurable blogging systems. While we do try to avoid all-out premature optimization, we do focus on the speed impacts of various system changes through benchmarks. If a new feature slows things down too much it gets cut or the algorithm is reworked until the speed impact is acceptable. It is quite likely that the latest release is the fastest release yet!
